The last few days have been quite exciting. My first ever piece of published work went out on sale and was posted through my door! It is a story on Whitby Abbey that I won a competition for ran by English Herritage last year – and it has finally been published as the first story in a very handsome anthology. Seeing my name in print is definately something I could get used to. Here is the link for anyone who wants to wonder at it and/or buy it. Proceeds go to help maintain the Abbey.
My mum has already bought three!
In other news, I have finished rewrite number one of ‘The Existence of Jonathan’, so the structure is pretty much there now. Now, I am going back through and editing sentence structure and correcting typos. I have also entered a competition for YA novelists ran by ‘Guide to Literary Agents’. The prize is a ten page citique of the work. Free to enter, but closes today. Check it out: http://www.guidetoliteraryagents.com/blog/7th+Dear+Lucky+Agent+Contest+Young+Adult.aspx
